1. Stage One: Amateur Self-study Examination Counseling and full-time self-study teaching

    1986: Mr. Niu Sanping set up an amateur self-study examination training class

    1989: it’s renamed as “Taiyuan Yuxin Training School for Self-Study Examination”

    1993: the name was changed to “Shanxi Technology & Business Institute”

2. Stage Two: Examination for Diploma and Degree

    1997: became one of the first national higher education diploma test institutions in Shanxi

    1999: Longcheng Campus was built

    2001: jointly run a school with Shanxi University of Finance and Economics to recruit students

    2002: General Education School of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics 

              was approved by Shanxi Provincial People’s Government

3. Stage Three: Full-time general higher vocational education

    2004: the college was approved by the provincial government and registered under the name of Shanxi Vocational College of Technology and Business

    2008: it passed the evaluation on personnel training in higher vocational colleges

4. Stage Four: Full-time higher education for bachelor degree

    2011: it was approved and upgraded by the MOE to be a full-time undergraduate college, Shanxi Technology and Business College was founded

    2013: Beige Campus was established

    2014: the new campus was put into use

    2015: the college was entitled to confer bachelor degree
